Sales Post.
Read time 3 mins.
Welcome to the Masters of Sales newsletter, where I blend sales and golf. Sometimes together. Sometimes separately. Today’s topic is all about sales.
Sales: What is it? How to get better? Who to follow and why?
There’s so much bullshit out there in the sales world.
People who are 10000% NOT qualified to sell, telling you how to sell. Don’t even get me started on the crap on LinkedIn.

So what is sales?
Sales is: Solving a problem. Someone has a problem. What you sell can fix the problem. You get money to fix the problem. Its a win/win.
What its not: High pressure, wolf of wall street stuff convincing and or pressuring people to buy something they may or may not need.
How to get better: Look, as a sales rep, you are your own CEO. You manage everything, and success and or failure relies squarely on your shoulders. You can’t rely on your company to level up your skillset. You have to take charge.
Which is why, if you want to level up (Insert Ciara song here), these are the people and resources to help:
1.) Dale Dupree. The way he views our profession, and the way he views how we should interact with our customers has changed me completely. Not to mention, the dude has made millions of dollars selling. Follow him on LI and checkout his website The Sales Rebellion.
2.) Keenan. Man is a legend with his book Gap Selling. When I started to follow Keenan and understand Gap selling, it changed the way I sold. It truly pushes you as a sales rep to be a consultant in the sales process. And to sell better.
3.) Benjamin Dennehy. UKs most hated sales trainer. Benjamin’s content and youtube videos taught me how to cold call. The essence of making calls, interacting with prospects, and breaking through the noise to again….see if we can help solve a problem.
4.) Becc Holland. Criminally underrated salesperson. She’s been in the trenches for years, and just a few years ago decided to train and teach sales full time. I got the chance to meet her on a free tour she hosted (Flip The Script), and her website is full of great and free content.
As someone who has spent some serious $$$ in courses and books, the people above are great resources to level up, with tons of free/low cost content as well.
Finally, thank you. Thank you for giving me your time. And I hope this newsletter can you give more great tips on sales (and golf) every week.

Thank you.
